Activity #4: What word is the focus?
We learned that within English words, there are stressed and unstressed syllables. The stressed syllables are pronounced longer, higher, and louder.
This happens in English sentences, too. Because Korean does not work like this, speakers will sometimes pronounce all English words in a sentence equally and separated. English-speakers, on the other hand, pronounce one word more clearly and de-emphasize the rest.
